The New York Academy 1216 5th ave & 103rd st. 
This show is a benefit to raise money to send our percussionist Shawn Banks & The Speaking In Rhythms Performance Ensemble to Ethiopia . They will also be performing ,+ special guest performance by 
Kamau of the Hueman
it all starts at 6:30pm. This is a kid friendly event so bring em if you got em!

Welcome to the Afro Roots series at the The Space at 9 Bleecker,
in which a great variety of artists from Africa, its diaspora and extended family,
will be featured every other Tuesday night. Afro Roots night at 9 Bleecker
promises to be lively, musical, diverse, very groovy, and yes, funky.

Delicious vegetarian African food (vegan Mafé, delicious peanut stew traditional to Senegal and Gambia & For dessert Mandazi, East African fried breads similar to donuts popular in Kenya and Tanzania)  will be available as well as fair trade coffees & teas.
& Digital Diaspora will be sharing 2 sets of nutrient-rich Afrotronik Funk to move your soul & butt. Hope to see you there
